Quick Verdict

For just Β£11, this portable pop-up privacy tent has turned out to be an extremely useful addition to my camping and paddle-boarding gear. I’ve used it around 10 times so far, both as a private toilet room while camping and as a changing room at the beach.

It takes seconds to pop open, provides plenty of privacy and folds down small enough to fit inside my paddle board bag, making it particularly useful when I’m heading to the water. The removable roof, groundsheet, ropes and pegs also make it more versatile than I expected for the price.

Folding it back down does take some practice, even with the supplied instructions, but once you’ve learnt the technique it becomes considerably easier. For Β£11, it’s been excellent value.

Description

This portable pop-up privacy tent is designed to provide a temporary private space when camping, at the beach or during other outdoor activities. It can be used as a camping toilet enclosure, changing room or shower/privacy tent.

Unlike a conventional tent, there’s virtually no assembly involved. The flexible frame allows the enclosure to pop into shape when removed from its bag, which makes setting it up extremely quick.

It also includes a removable top cover and groundsheet, so you can configure it depending on what you’re using it for. Ropes and pegs are supplied for securing it when necessary.

One of the biggest advantages for me has been its packed size. When folded, I can fit it inside my paddle board bag, so I’ve started taking it with me when paddle boarding and using it as a private changing room at the beach.

Verdict

After around 10 uses, this portable pop-up privacy tent has proven far more useful than its Β£11 price might suggest.

I’ve used it as a private toilet room when camping and as a changing room at the beach, and being able to fit it inside my paddle board bag makes it particularly convenient for paddle-boarding trips.

The removable roof and groundsheet are useful additions, while the supplied ropes and pegs give you the option of securing it when required.

The main downside is packing it away. There’s a particular folding technique to learn, and the first few attempts can be frustrating even with the supplied instructions. Once you’ve got used to it, however, it becomes considerably easier.

For Β£11, it’s an exceptionally useful bit of outdoor equipment and one that now regularly comes with me on camping and paddle-boarding trips.

My Recommendation

I’d highly recommend this portable privacy tent if you want an inexpensive camping toilet enclosure or changing room for camping, beach trips or paddle boarding.

Its biggest strengths are its incredibly quick setup, compact packed size and versatility. The removable roof, groundsheet, ropes and pegs are useful extras, particularly considering the Β£11 price.

Just practise folding it away a few times before your first trip. Once you’ve learnt the technique, the small inconvenience is easily outweighed by how useful the tent is.

Would I buy it again?

Absolutely

For Β£11, it has been exceptionally useful. I’ve already used it around 10 times for camping, beach trips and paddle boarding, and the fact that it folds small enough to fit inside my paddle board bag means it’s easy to take with me.

The folding technique takes some practice, but that wouldn’t stop me buying another one.
